The Dance Palace Outdoor Summer Camp is a new day camp model, created to serve the community’s needs in times of COVID-19, facilitating friendship, creativity and summer fun while prioritizing safety in the context of COVID-19. We place a high priority on helping campers to experience new activities and the natural world, connect to their own creativity and to develop positive relationships with trusted adults and one another.
Camp will be held entirely outdoors at the Dance Palace, offering a range of art, movement, logic, and nature-based activities. The camp will run for 4 week-long sessions, with a maximum of 18 campers attending per week. Camp will run from 9AM to 5PM from Monday-Thursday (4 days a week).
The camp will feature a combination of structured and unstructured activities designed to keep campers engaged and connected throughout the day. Campers will be assigned to stable mixed-age cohort groups of socially distanced Huddles.
Where will camp be?
This year, camp will be held in-person, entirely outside (except bathroom access). We will be at the Dance Palace, in the various locations outside the building, including the front & back lawns, front deck, basketball courts, and the nearby wetlands. Partial shade will be provided.
When is camp happening?
Camp will run from June 21 through July 15. We will meet Monday through Thursday from 9AM-5PM. Sessions will be a week long each, with new unique activities every week. Campers can sign up for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 weeks of Summer fun!
What ages can attend?
Camp is appropriate for children aged 6-12 years old. This year, groups will be multi-age to create possibilities for bonding and leadership.
