I will show a small collection in Visual Ode to Andrew Romanoff. I loved Andrew. He was really a great, kind, unusual, multi talented, person in so many ways. He was so pleasant to be with. I miss him. In his later life Andrew and I would get together and do Shrink Art and I loved drawing him. He was in my painting with Russian Borzoi hounds which is included in my book about my dog Rosebud. Andrew was her friend, and when he had a cookie in his hand she was allowed to take it because he found it so funny.Andrew recently passed away just before his 99th birthday. His paintings are small, witty icons influenced by his impressions of contemporary culture as well as his Russian heritage. Some of the images are about Russia and its history. His grandmother was Grand Duchess Xenia, sister of Czar Nicholas. He was a Prince of a man.
Also included are The last painting of Rosebud. It was an epic event of grief and trying to heal honestly it’s something that I do through my art and I hear that it’s actually healthy but it seemed crazy at the time as I thought of many people I know that also died and they are there.
My Original art for Maria Muldaur’s latest album “Lets Get Happy Together” will be exhibited for the first time.
