Gleaning to serve our community

Claire Peaslee • September 27, 2022

Help build community food resilience by bringing surplus harvest from orchards and fields to our neighbors with limited access to nourishing fresh food. West Marin Climate Action is part of a new collaboration to glean left-over crops in local small-farm fields, for local food pantries. The first opportunity to volunteer: a small team will gather apples and pears for two hours at Commonweal Garden (Bolinas) under the leadership of our partner organization ExtraFood. To participate, you must register by emailing monica@extrafood.org (Monica Ravizza, program director at ExtraFood).

To stay informed and contribute in the future, join the Local Food Resilience group here, in the Commons; and visit West Marin Climate Action's contact page to state your interest in "Local Food." You'll then receive email bulletins and event invitations. Thanks for your interest ! !
