In this final workshop of the 2025 Life as a Verb series, we’ll examine some basic foundations for establishing a good day despite what may be happening that is beyond our control.
Our world and our individual lives can be almost overwhelming at times, and so we are concentrating on some basic practices to stabilize ourselves, as we face everything that comes.
Making Silence a part of each day, no matter what.
Learning to Wait, to pause, to allow insight to show itself.
To Pay Attention and to make choices slowly, with discernment.
To BE Peace, to live in peace –each day.
As we listen and write, think and share with one another, we find ourselves to be at once teachers and learners, sharing wisdom we sometimes don’t realize we have. I am always awed at the rich sharing in our small groups, and the joy and pleasure we have when we listen to each other and when we are being listened to!!
Elizabeth River, interfaith minister and learner as much as teacher, offers meditation, poetry, time for reflection, writing and sharing and being heard. She encourages laughter, delight, messing up, and forgiving ourselves and one another at every moment.
These workshops are offered free of charge through West Marin Senior Services!
We will meet each Wednesday in August (the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th)from 1:00PM to 2:30PM on Zoom. Email james@wmss.org to register.
