Modern Nature is a British group led by Jack Cooper, known for his work with Ultimate Painting. Formed in 2018, the band blends elements of British folk, krautrock, and minimalist jazz, creating a sound that is both introspective and expansive. Their debut EP, Nature (2019), was followed by the full-length album How to Live (2020), which explored themes of urban isolation and transcendence through sparse arrangements and subtle textures. In 2022, they released Island of Noise, accompanied by a limited edition box set and a short film, further expanding their artistic vision. No Fixed Point in Space (2023), features live-to-tape recordings with collaborators Julie Tippetts and Jeff Tobias, emphasizing spontaneous, chamber-like compositions that evoke natural cycles and collective harmony. Their US tour will bring them to the Dance Palace in support of their new album, The Heat Warps, which showcases a new, more tightly structured approach to Cooper's songwriting.

The Bay area's own Brigid Dawson & The Mothers Network, formerly of the OSEES, will open the show.
