Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, “a symphonic tale for children” was written in 1936 to introduce young folks to the various sections of an orchestra. Led by Maestro Alexander Kahn, we are bringing talented guest musicians from around Marin, local players, and beginners of all ages together to perform this iconic piece. The story of Peter & The Wolf is inspired by a Russian folk tale. Our version will be tailored to a West Marin setting, complete with processional puppetry by Richard Vallejos and dynamic bilingual narration by Maica Folch. Come join us for a free performance June 1 at 3:30pm outdoors at the Dance Palace! Special thanks to The West Marin Fund and Gallery Route One for the Community Enrichment Grant, KWMR for media sponsorship, sponsors Straus Family Creamery & Auntie JJ’s, gratitude to the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, West Marin School, Shoreline Unified School District and The Dance Palace.
