Trained in "French Intensive Biodynamic Gardening" by students of Alan Chadwick at Green Gulch Farm. Develped 1./4 acre cut flower garden, from seed to harvest, and marketed same to S.F. flower market, as well as businesses in Marin, prior to and later working with Wendy Johnson. The flower varieties of the now-famous present Green Gulch garden were originally cultivated there by yours truly. Upon leaving Green Gulch/Zen Center in 1996, worked my way up the design ladder in East Marin, highlights of which were an award-winning garden in Sausalito, featured on the Secret Gardens of Sausalito tour, 2005, and written up in Pacific Horticulture magazine. Other high points included understory restoration under heritage coast live oak for Amy Tan on her property adjoining the above garden, and understory restoration for Old Mill Park, Mill Valley under coast redwoods for MCSTOPP, the Marin county stormwater agency. Numerous other smaller gardens, from which recommendations are available. Taught garden design at College of Marin, Community College, and studied rainwater harvesting with Brock Dolman at OAEC. Put together panel of outstanding leaders in rainwater harvesting at Mill Valley Community Center. Can provide licensed contractor, or use one you already heave. Current garden on view at 988 Mesa Rd. Emphasis on ecologically sound native plant restoration. $60 an hour for design and consultation skills.
