Dark Sky West Marin and Point Reyes Station Village Association are sponsoring a great event

about the effects of light pollution on wildlife and ecosystems.

We are very lucky to have Joe Mueller, Professor of biology speak on this subject. Light pollution is increasing at a rate of 10% a year and the effects are felt by more than us humans.

Please come and learn about the science behind the subject and what you can do to be a part of the change.

As a Professor of Biology for 30 years Joe’s been teaching a rich diversity of courses ranging from ornithology to marine biology and environmental science as well as leading field courses from the Alaskan tundra to the biodiverse coral reefs of Indonesia. His teaching style has developed from a view of life focused on systems thinking and how interrelationships make up the essential nature of life. He has developed and coordinates the Natural History Program at College of Marin and was awarded the Terwilliger Environmental Education Award in 2008 and the Peter Behr Steward of the Land & Sea Award in 2023
