Songs of the Sea & Shanty Singalong

Fiona O'Kelly • June 4, 2023

Avast, ye saucy sailors! Come brave the perilous waters of Point Reyes and join us for a rollicking good time at Point Reyes National Seashore's Sea Shanty Sing-along. Meet in the courtyard of the Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Drakes Beach on Saturday, June 24th (5:30-7pm) where we'll raise our voices together in songs of the sea. Bring your arsenal of sea shantys, warm layers, a folding chair, and your desire to lead us all in a tune—or simply join in on the chorus, if that's what floats your boat.

This free event is for shanty singers of all levels. Please RSVP to Ranger Fiona at fiona_o'kelly@nps.gov by June 20, though last-minute additions are welcome. Please indicate if you're planning on leading a sea shanty or two (or more!) in your RSVP and how many people in your party.

Due to the nature of sea chanties, there may be lyrics that are not appropriate for children.

Please note that this is an outdoor event and rain will cancel.
